2021/2022 CMH Hockey Season
As our
Canuck’s families are getting ready to relax and enjoy the lazy days of summer,
the CMH Executive is just ramping up planning for the 2021/2022 Canuck Season!
We are
working hard with our partners; Clearview Township and the Simcoe Muskoka
District Health Unit to continue navigating through this pandemic, we are
hopeful we will be able to return to a new-normal of hockey. We anticipate we
will likely see some familiar new norms, like hand washing stations, mask
wearing and health screening, however are working hard to return to dressing
rooms, 5on5 games and moving towards tournaments!
As much as we are excited about heading back to the rink and cheering from the stands, we are optimistically cautious and will have a plan should we need to adjust back to the past years programming. This past year challenged our ability to offer the hockey programming we know everyone wanted and craved, it was a learning curve none of us expected but we’ve learned so much and will be able to tackle another modified season, if we had too. We gained so much last season and will be able to tweak and adjust to offer a more improved season this year!
What do we know right now? OMHA has stated there will be NO on-ice training/activities before September 7/2021. After which AAA try-outs will begin, then AA and so-on. We anticipate we will be able to offer tryouts the end of September! Yes! We said try-outs!!! OMHA has also shared that all tournaments can commence as of October 8/2021, as long as health regulations allow, which could mean back to travelling outside our zones! In order to remain hopeful for a full season we all must do our part – follow the local regulations, get vaccinated and continue to keep each other healthy and safe! We will get back to playing the game we love!
Watch for the 2021/2022 Registration coming soon! SHHHH! Don’t tell the President I told you, but hockey fees will remain the same as they were from the 2019/2020 season!
Looking forward to seeing everyone in the fall but for now, have a great summer, stay safe and healthy!
