Planning a return to hockey....
ATTENTION ALL 2020-2021 CLEARVIEW CANUCKS!!!
As announced this week the Ontario Government will be lifting the Emergency Orders from January 12, 2021 and slowly moving the province back to the colour-zones throughout Ontario. With this comes a HUGE decision - to return OR not to return?
Our CMH Executive started this COVID19 journey with the passion to keep our hockey players on the ice doing what they love, safely. Given the hardship this global pandemic has put on everyone, and the most extreme irregular season of hockey we will all remember for years to come! We are working with Clearview Township and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit to work out a plan in attempt for a few more twigs and rubber time in the ol'barn!
What we know thus far....
- we will be under RED-Zone restrictions which means 10 players on the ice with 2 coaches maximum
- NO GAMES or SCRIMMAGES at this time, skills and drills only until further colour-zone changes
- health screens will still be required before entry AND masks must be worn into/in the arena
- players will remain required to come dressed and arrive 15 minutes before hand
- entry into arena will likely remain to players/coaching staff ONLY as restrictions in building capacity
But what does this mean for the players and coaching staff???
- back on the ice for at least ONE ice time a week until possibly mid- or end of March!
- back to their teams, their friends, their #hockeyfamily!
WHAT DO WE NEED YOU TO DO???
--> email your 2020/2021 team Coach BEFORE Tuesday February 16/2021 if you are able/willing
to come back for some skills and drills, possibly scrimmages/games IF changes to restrictions
(colour-zone) occur before we end. We understand this could be an emotional decision for parents/
guardians to make and respect your decision either way. We will look forward to seeing everyone in
the 2021/2022 season!
By now you are probably wondering about cost - the Clearview Township Council has agreed to reduce ice fees to
help us safely keep hockey going! What does this mean for you? With this significant reduction in ice time fees,
and some money our CMH Executive has leftover from a reduced season, we are able to offer this last session
of the 2020/2021 season for FREE to all 2020/2021 registered players!!!!
Please email your 2020/2021 Coach with your intentions and more details will come about when
we will be starting (likely the end of this week!).
Happy Family Day weekend Canucks!
Your CMH Executive
