New for 2014-2015 IP (Initiation) Program

OMHA has approved a new policy for the 2014-2015 season for age categories below Novice as follows:
 1) Tyke – for players aged 7
 2) Initiation Program (IP) for players 6 and younger.

SMHA is planning 1 team in each of the following divisions:

Novice Rep
Novice Local
Tyke
Initiation (CHIP)

Players age 7 years will be welcome to try out for Novice Rep/Novice LL

New this season:
Players age 6  only will be welcome to try out for Tyke
All players age 6 that are not selected for Tyke will fall under the IP Program.
No 6 year old will be permitted to try out for Novice.

There are limited spots available.  If interested please watch the website for tryout dates/times.  Player selection will be based on Hockey Canada’s criteria which includes skill, understanding, coachability, etc.
